<a href="https://www.cannabinoidclinical.com/science-cannabinoids#paragraph-296"target="_blank">CBD (Cannabidiol) is a chemical element that is part of a classification of >100 compounds known publicly as cannabinoids. Cannabinoids are in the heart of the Cannabis plant and are responsible for the herb’s unique medicinal properties. Having very low affinity for cannabinoid receptors CB1, CBD is lacking euphoric side effects.

The other famous cannabinoid is THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) – it is primarily known for having psychoactive properties, but also has anti-inflammatory qualities among other medicinal effects. Scientists have found 113 cannabinoids in cannabis so far, although only a few – see CBD and THC - have been researched in depth and gained a greater understanding.

Phytocannabinoids such as THC, CBD, and cannabinol (CBN) were identified first and isolated from the plant. Then, in 1988, while scientists were investigating how THC exerted its effects, the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endocannabinoid_system"target="_blank">endocannabinoid system (ECS) was discovered with in the human’s and animal’s body. The ECS is an intensely perplexing nexus that regulates a myriad of functions of human biology, which are crucial for our mental and physical health. The endocannabinoid system consists of several receptors, with the most important of them called CB1 and CB2. The keys of these receptors- known as endocannabinoids- produced from our body and are already part of it, in the brain, vital organs, immune cells etc. Endocannabinoids, which are present in our body, strengthen their power by taking cannabinoids such as CBD, so as a result achieve cooperation in preventing and addressing threats against the organization.

Cannabinoids, specifically CBD, are unique for the reason that they can regulate the right functions of endocannabinoids. If the ECS is the body’s regulator, CBD is what regulates the regulator!

The fact is that a <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2018/10/27/style/cbd-benefits.html"target="_blank">big conversation has begun about CBD and its effect on the endocannabinoid system, but research is still ongoing to find out just how much this simple compound affects the body. People are finding that a huge variety of conditions can be treated with CBD- and since it comes with no significant side effects or addiction potential- most seem to be prepared to experiment with it and see if it works for them. At the moment, studies show that CBD <a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2430692/"target="_blank">causes therapeutic effects, but this may have more to do with the fact that it treats pain, anxiety, and neurological functions among other things, and therefore helps to calm the patient. This unlocking of the endocannabinoid system <ahref="https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/inner-source/201901/cbd-oil-mental-health-should-you-take-it-too"target="_blank">may offer an explanation why many users find it to be such a calming and therapeutic drug: the EC is responsible for all sorts of essential processes, some of which are vital to the biochemistry of the body as a whole. So while other medicines are designed to focus on one area of treatment, CBD, by acting on a larger biological process, is able to treat a variety of ailments.

Those having mental health issues are desperately seeking more sufficient solutions, and CBD’s anxiolytic and antidepressant effects are of considerable interest.
Studies have proven that CBD is also better than a placebo for social anxiety. CBD also helps to direct anandamide (neurotransmitter) to the brain, where it can work to improve someone’s mood.
But these are just a couple of reasons – fibromyalgia, migraines, arthritis, chronic pain, insomnia and epilepsy are just a few more conditions which can be aided by CBD.
