Vaping a 'Small' Fraction of the Risks of Smoking
The independent report was led by academics at King's College London with a group of international collaborators, and – at over 1400 pages - is the most comprehensive to date. Its main focus was a systematic review of the health risks and health effects of vaping - and broadly it found that vaping is overwhelmingly safer than smoking.

Switching Reduces Vascular Damage
CoEHAR (Centre of Excellence for the acceleration of Harm Reduction) researchers, involved in the Replica project, have found that switching to electronic cigarettes and heated tobacco products reduce the vascular damage and the onset of smoking-related diseases. The research findings are a strong challenge to the common misconception that using e-cigarettes and heated tobacco can be just as bad as smoking.

Lamentable Lung Coverage
British newspapers are reproducing baseless American claims that vaping has caused severe lung damage. Despite the facts being known about the true cause of EVALI, it appears to still be a popular way of attacking electronic cigarettes. It follows the slightly less well covered story that a teen who has a double lung transplant has now admitted it was due to drug use.

Oz Study Finds Success
Legalise Vaping Australia say a major study published in the prestigious Addictive Behaviours journal finds daily vapers are 100% more likely to quit smoking successfully. This is a problem for Australian smokers and current vapers because the federal government has banned over-the-counter sales and made accessing nicotine containing eliquid very difficult to do.

Secondhand Risk Claim Crushed
A new study from the University of Southern California claims to find secondhand vape and the researchers go on to state that this poses a risk to friends and family. It’s just one more in a line of shoddy anti-vaping studies that Jessica Barrington-Trimis has been linked to and has been attacked by experts and the American Council on Science and Health.
